Mental Omega: Almost Perfect Yuri's Revenge is a non-profit C&C project by fans, for fans. With ambitious plans to revamp the Westwood's classic Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge, we'd like to ask you all this simple question: do you want to renew interest in this game?
With Ares DLL, great things are now possible and we can't wait to show its possibilities to C&C fans in the upcoming Mental Omega APYR 3.0. You might want to help us make it even better!
Positions:
- Red Alert 2 Map Makers: Mental Omega 3.0 will provide many new missions for singleplayer & multiplayer cooperative. At the moment, there are two mission designers: Speeder and RP, with LordCesare helping with map layout design. To speed up our work, additional map makers would be welcome. Being able to script missions is a big plus. Skirmish map designers are welcome as well. Additionally, with 200+ skirmish maps total, there will be a lot of work with updating those maps to new standards.
- Voice Actors: New units require new voice-overs as we don't want to reuse voices from other C&C games, especially not for the 9 unique heroes. We want to make each hero a unique character with their own story for the campaign. If you'd like to voice one of the 9 heroes, let us know. The most important objective right now is to create an interesting campaign in which we don't want to deliver information to players only through messages. We'd like to do voiceovers to improve the campaign experience, especially for missions with new heroes..
Mental Omega Heroes: Tanya, Siegfried, Rahn, Libra, Volkov & Chitzkoi, Morales, Yunru, Malver, Norio - (bold font means that voices are not required)
It would be a hit if you were able to imitate Udo Kier's Yuri voice, at least partially!
- Music Composers: While the primary soundtrack for all three sides is now complete, we'd like to add more songs for in-game characters and missions to improve the campaign experience. There are various plans for this branch, e.g. themes for heroes, but with limited resources, we'll be grateful for any sort of input here.
- 3D Artists: From simple environmental objects, animations, ingame buildings to renders and CGI, if you want to help us somehow, please message us.
- Graphic Artists: Drawings, UI design, concept art, promotional art.
- Translators: We intend to release Mental Omega 3.0 in several languages (English, Polish, Dutch, Chinese being the currently confirmed ones). If you're interested in translating the mod into your language, message us. If Yuri's Revenge has already been translated into your language, you'll only have to work with 10% of the amount the original stringtable had. We do not plan to create voiceovers in various languages: all voices will be available in English.
- Beta Testers: At the moment, the 3.0 beta is in a less closed status, meaning that you can apply for testing. However, due to some circumstances with previous betas, only people we know and trust will be accepted. An open beta will most likely happen at a later point in time.
